   Apple to initiate assembling its top-end Iphones in India through the regional unit of Foxconn in the beginning months of 2019. This will be the first time that the Taiwanese contract manufacturer will make the product in the country, according to a source.

   Apple Inc's high-end smartphones will start being assembled in Foxconn plant in Sriperumbudur in southern state of Tamil Nadu in India. The news was first reported by The Hindu. TheTaiwanese company Foxconn already makes phones in India for Xiaomi but, this will be the first time it will assemble iphones in the country.

    Foxconn will invest $336 million in the country to expand iphone production in India. The investment may create as much as 25,000 jobs in the country. Apple has been assembling its lower end smartphones like Iphone se and 6s through Winstron Corps regional unit in Benguluru in state of Karnataka.

    In the the Foxconn assembling unit, the company will assemble higher end and the most expensive Iphones. After the launch of its Iphones from the Xs and Xs max, apple has cut its production cost for the Iphone X.

The company has been burdened by the Indian import taxes due to which the Iphones are much more costlier in the country.

    Apples sale in India have been mostly focused on lower end phones. More than 50% of its sales consists of Iphones which are older than Iphone 8. The company has been burdened by the Indian import taxes due to which the Iphones including its already high priced Iphone X series are much more costlier in the country. Thus, assembling the Iphones in the country will cut the price to some extent.

    This iPhone is still worth it because it's still able to run Apple's newest version of iOS. As of right now, a used iPhone 6S is still able to run the most recent Apple mobile operating system: iOS 14
