What is Fps? Slow motion and Timelapse explained!!!

Image
Balloon Bursting in Slow motion          According to Techopedia, " Frames per second (FPS) is a unit that measures display device performance. It consists of the number of complete scans of the display screen that occur each second. This is the number of times the image on the screen is refreshed each second, or the rate at which an imaging device produces unique sequential images called frames."       A video is basically large number of pictures or frames played continuously with   minute   differences. Frames per second is the speed at which those pictures move in a video at a continuous rate. This makes or eyes feel like the object or the people in the video are moving.        A normal motion video has a frame rate of 30fps which means we are able to see 30 frames or pictures in each second which results in a the objects in the video move without pausing. Payment Through NFC Image Source: Getty Images             NFC or Near Field Communication is a technology that makes use of high frequency wireless communication fir transferring data over a shorter distance which ranges from  5 cm - 10 cm. This technology makes your life more convenient by making it very easy to share data between devices and perform transactions.      In simple words, NFC is a technology that makes it able to pass data between two devices, generally your smartphone and an another device, so that you can share data, perform transactions or even get discount offers by tapping your smartphone on smart discount coupons.      How does NFC work?      NFC also work on the principle of sending information over radio waves just as  WiFi , Bluetooth and some other technologies. NFC makes use of Radio frequency Identification (RFID) technology which used electromagnetic induction to transfer information.         This is one of the main differences betwe

What is 3d printing? How does it work?

Image
A 3d Printed Object       3d Printing is an innovative technology that takes help of the 3d scanner and 3d printer to produce a real life model from a digital design.      The main purpose of  3d printing is to create prototype design of a design faster and cheaper. It perfectly nailed for which it was innovated. After the innovation of the 3d printing technology, even creating complex prototypes of a design became easier. Nowadays you can print anything using a 3d printer. How does 3d printing work?       3d printing unlike conventional manufacturing, does not remove any material, instead it adds layer after layer to form an object. Due to its this quality, it is also known as additive manufacturing. A 3d Printer Printing an object       First you need to create a 3d model of anything that you want to print. That can be created by designing in a 3d modelling program known as CAD(Computer Aided Design), or you can use a 3d scanner to scan a object you want to p

What is Terahertz imaging? Use of Terahertz imaging in reading closed books?

Image
Terahertz Imaging can be used to read Closed Books which are Old             Terahertz imaging is a technology which makes use of the Terahertz frequency which ranges from 0.1 THz - 3 THz and lies between the microwave and infrared frequencies. Terahertz frequency is able to see through many materials which are blocked by visible and infrared spectra which make it beneficial to be used for terahertz imaging.            Thus, compared to the microwave radiation or the conventional X-rays, it is able to achieve   better   spatial  resolution  which   is   required   for   rendering quality imaging with the help of T-rays or terahertz frequency range.      Now, if we want to know the depth of the mine which we dug, we would send laser in the deepest point and then measure the time it takes to travel back to the source. As we know the speed of light, we can calculate the depth. The same is with the SONAR, the ship's send sound waves in the water and measure the time

What is Lidar? How does Lidar work in self driving cars?

Self Driving Car Using Lidar Image Source: Getty Images       According to Merriam-Webster dictionary ," A device that is similar in operation to radar but emits pulsed laser light instead of microwaves"      In simple words, LIDAR - Light Detection and Ranging is a technology which uses laser light beams to know the distance of the of the objects surrounding it instead of microwaves used in Radar.      Lidar uses a sensor which shoots eye safe laser beams at very high speed -150,000 beams per second through a camera which collide with the surrounding objects and reflect back to a sensor. The sensor measures the time required for the laser beams to reflect back to it. It also uses the speed of light to calculate the distance. The result is a 3-dimensional map of the surrounding or the target object and the characteristics of its surface.
